Renewal of Academic Exchange Agreement with Electric Power University (Vietnam) and Signing Ceremony

University of Fukui (UF) and Electric Power University (EPU) in Vietnam have renewed their inter-university agreement, originally signed in 2014, which has fostered deep exchange among students and researchers. To further strengthen this partnership, the two universities renewed the agreement on November 10th and held a signing ceremony at UF’s Bunkyo Campus.

President NAIKI Hironobu gave an opening address, expressing his gratitude: “I am thankful that our exchange has continued for over ten years, especially in the field of nuclear energy, since we began our relationship in 2012.” Assoc. Prof. Dinh Van Chau, President of EPU, commented on his high hopes for the agreement, stating, “I look forward to this renewal serving as an opportunity to further develop next-generation research and student exchange between our two universities.”

Prior to the signing, presentations were held to introduce the initiatives of each university. Prof. UNO Masayoshi, Director of Research Institute of Nuclear Engineering at UF, and Dr. Tran Thi Nhan, a Lecturer of Faculty of New Energy at EPU, provided an overview of their respective universities and programs for international students. A Q&A session regarding future collaborations in the nuclear field was also conducted.

The renewed agreement specifically includes a new clause “the development of a collaborative curriculum” at EPU. Prof. KUWAZURU Osamu, Head of Department of Nuclear Safety Engineering, from the Faculty of Engineering, who attended the signing, paid tribute to the long-standing exchange. He expressed his commitment, saying, “We will promote further exchange and collaborative activities with EPU and cooperate in the development of nuclear human resources in Vietnam.”

UF will continue to advance research and international exchange among the faculty and students of both universities.
